What services are not available at the RCU DMV Services counter?

Our DMV Services are limited to vehicle and VIN‑based services only. Any driver’s license, identification, testing, medical, judicial or other non‑vehicle‑related DMV services must be handled directly with the California DMV.

The following vehicle and VIN-based services must be handled with California DMV directly. Please make an appointment with the California DMV by calling 800-777-0133 or visiting dmv.ca.gov.*

  • Smog check
  • Dealer transfers
  • Out of state title transfers
  • New personalized license plates
  • Real ID
  • One-way-trip permits
  • Temporary operating permits
  • Disabled license plates or placards
  • Vehicle safety inspections
  • Correctable violation (fix-it ticket) signoff
  • Salvage certificate
  • Original/new vehicle transactions of any type
  • Out-of-country vehicle (grey market) conversion
  • Print out driver history reports
  • Conversion from auto to commercial
  • Emissions Recalls
  • Salvage Titles
